Riad Mechlaoui
Riad Mechlaoui
CEO, Injectables Division

Riad is responsible for all injectable operations globally. He brings both breadth and depth to this role, having worked with the company since 1990 and having led our Injectables division through a period of rapid growth.


Riad joined Hikma as a Project Engineer in the engineering department where he was involved in the construction of Hikma’s facility in Portugal. He spent a significant period in the manufacturing operations of many Hikma sites, was General Manager of Hikma Italy and became Head of Injectables Manufacturing Operations before assuming his current role. Riad was an Executive Director at Watson Pharmaceuticals from 1998 to 2005, responsible for Injectables operations. Riad has led Hikma’s Injectables division through a period of rapid growth and has integrated operations into a global operation.


Riad has a BSc in Engineering and a Master’s in Engineering and Management from George Washington University.

Brian Hoffmann

President, US Generics Division

Brian brings a wealth of experiences in strategy, business development, M&A and marketing. Since joining West-Ward/Hikma in 2009, he has been instrumental in the growth of our Orals business in the US.


Brian was appointed President of West-Ward Pharmaceuticals in 2015 with responsibilities for two of Hikma’s facilities, supply chain, business development, and product selection.  Brian originally joined West-Ward in 2009 to develop a strategy function for West-Ward to accelerate future growth for the business.  Brian was later promoted to new roles including VP Corporate Development and SVP & General Manager.  During his time with West-Ward, Brian has led many strategic initiatives including the acquisitions and integrations of Baxter’s Multi-Source Injectables business and Boehringer Ingelheim’s Roxane Laboratories.  Brian has developed many strategic partnerships for West-Ward to supplement the company’s internal pipeline, bring in new technologies, and reach new markets. 


Before coming to West-Ward, Brian worked for L.E.K. Consulting as a management consultant in their Boston office.  He led engagements for clients in a wide variety of areas including growth strategy, merger evaluation and integration, new product launches, and strategic alliances.  Earlier in his career Brian spent a number of years in marketing, market research, and sales roles within the pharmaceutical and consumer packaged goods industries.


Brian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Boston University Questrom School of Management and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with concentrations in strategic management, finance, and marketing

Craig Heneghan

Executive Vice President of Commercial Development Strategy

Craig is responsible for the leadership, and implementation of the Commercial Development initiatives for the Generics business, as well as providing input into the long-range planning and goal-setting to achieve the growth potential of the division in the US.


Prior to joining Hikma, Craig has had nearly twenty years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry starting his career at CVS Health in Finance with responsibilities which included pharmaceutical budgeting and planning & analysis. During his time at CVS Health he held leadership roles in pharmaceutical wholesaler contracting; generic pharmaceutical procurement; and branded pharmaceutical category management. He continued to take on roles of greater responsibility becoming Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Merchandising for CVS Health.  Craig was the founding President of Red Oak Sourcing, a stand-alone joint venture between CVS Health and Cardinal Health and the largest generic pharmaceutical sourcing entity in the United States.  He has a strong finance background and expertise in generic pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution, strategy development and implementation, and complex deal negotiations.  Through his various roles Craig developed a strong track record of consistently driving value, developing and implementing successful business strategies and mentoring talent. 


Craig holds a Master of Science from Boston College’s Carroll School of Management, an MBA from Suffolk University and Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

Daniel Motto

Executive Vice President of the US Injectables Division

Mr. Motto joins Hikma from Teva where he most recently led its Global Business Development, Portfolio Management, Business Intelligence and Biosimilars businesses.  Prior to that, he served as a member of the generics leadership team that drove organic growth, formed extensive partnerships and executed multiple acquisitions, including the acquisition of Actavis and Allergan that took Watson Labs from a smaller US generic player to a top 10 global pharmaceutical company.   He has also held senior roles at Sandoz and Johnson & Johnson.

Mohammed Obeidat

Chief Financial Officer

Mohammed joined West-Ward in September 2013 as Deputy CFO and now serves as the company CFO. Before joining West-Ward, Mohammed became a member of the Hikma Corporate Team in 2004 as Group Financial Reporting Manager, where he played a key role in helping the company prepare for its initial public offering.  Mohammed then assumed the role of the Group Budgeting and Planning Director, where he assisted the corporate CFO in setting the Group’s financial strategies and translating the strategies into actionable budgets and business plans. In addition, Mohammed played a key role in evaluating and integrating the acquisitions made by Hikma and West-Ward during the last 10 years.  Mohammed began his career in public accounting, including time with Deloitte and Touche.


Mohammed received his Bachelor degree in Accounting from Yarmouk University in Jordan and he is a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). 

Frank Savastano

Senior Vice President Supply Chain and Generics Operations

Frank joined West-Ward in January 2012 as the Director of Supply Chain and now serves as the Vice President of Orals Manufacturing and Supply Chain Management. Frank is an experienced leader with a strong background in operations, project management, supply chain strategy, and Lean tools. He began his career at Prudential Financial working in vendor management and information technology. Prior to joining West-Ward, Frank served as the Director of Logistics and Planning for Schering-Plough Corporation (now Merck & Co., Inc.). During his 8 years at Schering-Plough / Merck, Frank managed a variety of departments and led many strategic site and corporate initiatives.


Frank holds a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from Rutgers University – Newark and a Masters degree in Information Systems from Stevens Institute of Technology.

Steven M Kaplan
Stephen M. Kaplan
Vice President Human Resources

Stephen brings nearly 30 years of Human Resource (HR) Leadership experience with such companies as Ranbaxy, Pharmacia, and Rhone-Poulenc Rorer. His extensive experience includes both international and domestic settings in leading, planning, organizing and implementing policies, programs, and practices which drive HR’s value.  Prior to joining West-Ward, Stephen was responsible for providing global HR support for approximately 7,000 employees covering 49 countries.  Stephen also has significant integration experience including the GD Searle/Pharmacia, Pharmacia/Pfizer and now the West-Ward/Baxter Multisource Injectables business integrations.

Stephen holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Mt. St. Mary’s University.


David Berger
David Berger
Vice President, Legal Affairs

David joined West-Ward in 2013 and brings significant legal experience in the pharmaceutical and life science industries to West-Ward, having previously worked with Johnson & Johnson and Actavis, as well as other life science companies.  David began his career working for major national law firms, supporting pharmaceutical and life science clients.  Throughout his career, he has served in various leadership roles including serving on senior leadership teams for various business units and leading M&A and integration teams. 

David holds a J.D., summa cum laude, from Washington College of Law at American University and a Bachelor's Degree, cum laude, from Villanova University.
